MCC School and AIDS Bags

For the past two years we have been on the hunt of a charity project for our shop. We are excited to be working together with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) to create school bags and AIDS kit bags for developing countries.

MCC sends drawstring fabric bags filled with school supplies, as well as fabric shoulder bags filled with hygiene items for AIDS patients, to villages around the globe. They are currently in need of thousands of these bags. We are encouraging our customers to sew bags from their fabric scraps and bring them into the shop. We will make sure that they get to the MCC Center in Calgary for distribution overseas. Patterns for both bags are available at MCC School Bags and at MCC AIDS Bags and at the shop. It is important that bags are sewn to the same specifications so that every bag going overseas has identical dimensions.
